Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 mod for Minecraft: animatronic mobs

Search for a FNaF mod for Minecraft and you get many, from 2014 to this year. This page is about an early one: the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Mod by albert721, posted on the Minecraft Forum in November 2014. It brought the animatronics into Minecraft as mobs that leave you alone by day and hunt you at night.

The mod never left Minecraft 1.7.10. Version 1.2 is the last one, and albert721 last edited the thread on November 30, 2014. The thread is still online, but no newer build exists. If you want animatronics in a current version of Minecraft, look at the two newer FNaF mods further down.

We first covered this mod here in 2014. This page replaces that post. Nobody here has played it for this update; every fact comes from the author’s thread and the official project pages, checked on October 16, 2026.

What the mod added

In albert721’s words, the mod “brings the original Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 into Minecraft” and “adds in almost all the animatronics from the game”.

Animatronics

• Freddy, Bonnie and Foxy
• Mangle
• Toy Freddy, Toy Bonnie and Toy Chica
• Golden Freddy, a boss mob
• Balloon Boy and the Puppet, added in v1.1

Every animatronic has a spawn egg and its own speed. They jump at you, and Golden Freddy jumps highest. Most of them carry items, some drop iron ingots or redstone, and each one has a death sound.

Day, night and the Freddy mask

By day the animatronics leave you alone. At night they all attack, unless you wear a Freddy head or mask. Two of them ignore the mask: Foxy and Mangle “will keep attacking you no matter what”.

Items

• Freddy Mask. Craft it and wear it to stay safe from most animatronics at night.
• Cupcake. Food that restores hunger.
• Foxy’s Hook. A weapon.
• Guitar and Freddy’s Microphone. No use yet. The thread says they “do not do anything special” yet.

Version history

One v1.2 change stands out: “Golden Freddy now crashes the game when you die”. In other words, a death by Golden Freddy closes Minecraft.

We do not link a download. The thread’s download links go through an ad-link service, and copies on other sites are re-uploads we cannot vouch for. The author’s terms say every mirror needs written permission first.

FNaF mods for current Minecraft

Both of these are on Modrinth and need GeckoLib. Install them on the server too if you play multiplayer.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Management Wanted

Management Wanted, by OVDR Studios, is the most downloaded result in a Modrinth search for FNaF. It mixes the restaurant management of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator with the adventure of FNaF World. You design, build and run your own pizzeria, then survive the night until 6 AM with doors, lights, masks and audio lures. The page promises “over 150+ Animatronics”. Security cameras come in a separate add-on, Surveillance Package. Version 0.3.3 also needs the Management Wanted 0.3.3 Fixes mod.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s | FNAF Mod

The FNAF Mod by mephilis12 is closer to albert721’s idea: characters from the series as mobs in your world. It adds “Custom Structures Based on All FNaF Media” and working cameras.

Neither project is official. Management Wanted states that it is “not affiliated with Scott Cawthon or Steel Wool Studios”, and the FNAF Mod says the characters belong to Scott Cawthon.

How to install a FNaF mod

A launcher handles the files for you. These steps use Prism Launcher; our Prism Launcher guide covers the setup.

1. Create a Minecraft 1.20.1 instance in Prism Launcher.
2. Click Edit, open the Version tab and add Forge. Our Minecraft Forge guide explains the loader.
3. Open the Mods tab, click Download Mods and search for the mod by name.
4. Add GeckoLib. For Management Wanted, also add Management Wanted 0.3.3 Fixes.
5. Click OK and launch the game.
