The Adventure Time Adventure Map is a Minecraft map by aaronDAYTON, based on the Cartoon Network series. Its challenges come from actual episodes, including “They Went to the Nightosphere”, “Beautopia” and “Trouble In Lumpy Space”, and it ships with an Adventure Time texture pack by Leonel. The creator built it for Minecraft 1.4.7. We first covered it here in 2014, in a post whose address named version 1.6.2. Only the title of that post survives.

Nobody here has played the map for this rebuild. Every fact below comes from aaronDAYTON’s Planet Minecraft page and Minecraft Forum thread, read through Wayback Machine copies and checked on October 16, 2026.
What the map is
aaronDAYTON calls it “One of my greatest masterpieces!” and pitches it at “all you crazy adventure time fans”. The map mixes the show’s episodes with parkour, puzzles and fighting, going by the project’s tags. The credits list five beta testers, Leonel for the texture pack, and PCLewis for an HD patcher.
The map was popular. The Planet Minecraft title claims more than 400,000 downloads across sites, and the site’s own counter showed 105,754 in January 2026.
The forum thread also lists plans for Adventure Time 2, 3 and 4, with episode levels such as “Paper Pete”, “The Lich” and “From Bad To Worse”. Those were plans. The creator’s Planet Minecraft project list shows no sequel.
Which Minecraft version?
Both pages say the same thing: “PLEASE USE VERSION 1.4.7+ FOR THIS MAP!” Our 2014 post named 1.6.2, which is newer than 1.4.7, but the creator never names that version.
The texture pack is the part tied to old versions. In a 2013 reply on Planet Minecraft, aaronDAYTON explained the download. It holds a save folder with a long, random-looking name, a texture pack folder and a read me. The save goes in saves, and the pack goes in texturepacks, “Since it’s 1.4.7 it’s texturepacks not resourcepacks”.
The creator does not say whether the map works on current Minecraft. To play it as built, with the texture pack, use 1.4.7.
How to play it safely
Download the map only from aaronDAYTON’s Planet Minecraft page. Copies on other sites are not checked by anyone, and a map download should hold a world folder, a texture pack and a read me, not an .exe file.
Prism Launcher can run 1.4.7 in its own instance, apart from your other worlds. Our Prism Launcher guide covers the basics.
- In Prism, click Add Instance, pick 1.4.7 from the Releases list and click OK.
- Prism uses Java 8 for this version. Leave “Autodetect Java version” on, or install Java 8 yourself.
- Launch the instance once, then close the game.
- Extract the map download.
- Right-click the instance, choose Edit, open Worlds and click View Folder. Copy the save folder in.
- For an instance this old, Prism shows a Texture packs page instead of Resource Packs. Open it, click Add File and pick the texture pack from the download.
- Start the game, pick the pack from the texture pack menu on the title screen, and load the world.
