We first wrote about the DecoCraft mod in November 2014, in a post titled “Deco Craft Mod”. That post is lost; only its title survives. The mod is still going. DecoCraft adds furniture, decorative blocks and lighting to Minecraft, and its pages now count “over 3000 decorations”. Some of them do more than sit there: the page mentions a chair you can sit in and a fireplace that crackles.
The CurseForge project dates from May 7, 2014, and has more than 50 million downloads. The newest files went up on April 9, 2026, for Minecraft 1.21.11 on Fabric and NeoForge. No file supports the Minecraft 26.x releases yet.
This is a refresh of our old post. Nobody here has played with DecoCraft for this update. Every fact comes from the official CurseForge and Modrinth pages, checked on October 16, 2026. We read the CurseForge page through a Wayback Machine copy from October 2, 2026.
What DecoCraft adds
Everything starts with three blocks that you craft first:
- Decomposer. Put in dirt, logs or cobblestone, add coal or charcoal as fuel, and press Start to make Raw Material.
- Decobench. Turns Raw Material into decorations.
- Decobrush. Changes the color of many decorations.
The page says many items are functional and some are animated. The team lists RazzleberryFox on 3D models and code, ProfMobius as lead coder, and Momoko and CiciHoneyBee on models. The same team makes Decocraft Nature, which adds plants.
Versions and loaders
| Minecraft | Loader | DecoCraft | Uploaded |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.21.11 | Fabric, NeoForge | 3.0.9 | April 9, 2026 |
| 1.21.1 | NeoForge | 3.0.11 | April 9, 2026 |
| 1.21.1 | Fabric | 3.0.9 | April 9, 2026 |
| 1.20.1, 1.20.4 | Fabric | 3.0.7 | December 22, 2025 |
| 1.16.5 to 1.20.1 | Forge | 3.0.4 | October 10, 2025 |
| 1.12.2 | Forge | 2.6.3.7 | Needs PTRLib |
| 1.11.2 | Forge | 2.5.2 | Older build |
| 1.7.10 | Forge | 2.4.2 | Older build |
Two notes from the page. From 1.16 on, DecoCraft no longer needs the PTRLib library; only the 1.12.2 version does. The page also still warns that “1.16 Decocraft is in BETA”, although the 1.16.5 files have been marked as releases since September 2025.
DecoCraft must be installed on both the client and the server. The FAQ also has a warning about load times and crashes: “Please allocate AT LEAST 4GB RAM to your Minecraft!”
How to install DecoCraft
A launcher handles the install. We use Prism Launcher here, and our Prism Launcher guide covers instances.
- Install Prism Launcher and sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Create an instance for a Minecraft version from the table, for example 1.21.11 or 1.21.1.
- Select it, click Edit, open the Version tab and add the loader that the table lists for that version.
- Open the Mods tab, click Download Mods and search for “Decocraft”.
- Give the instance at least 4 GB of memory, as the FAQ asks.
- Click OK and launch the game. Craft a Decomposer and a Decobench to start.
- On a server, put the same jar in the server’s
modsfolder.
