Extra Utilities Mod Review
Extra Utilities Mod is a mod that does exactly what its name suggests. It delivers a multitude of additional utilities to the game. The types of utilities it offers range from ones that are highly functional and add depth to the game while some are both for light-hearted fun as well as function. One example of an Extra Utilities Mod implement that you can enjoy and benefit from is the chandelier. It is an alternate light source that can only be mounted on a ceiling. It is enchanting to view but also prevents hostile mobs from spawning within a 64-block radius.
Angel Block is your best friend when working in the sky in creative mode or in water far from land, since it doesn”t need a solid surface to be placed. Just right-click the air and the block will appear in front of you. Then when you left-click the block to break it, it will break instantly and will automatically enter your inventory (survival mode only).
Among the utilities delivered by the mod that you may find useful are the colored blocks. These blocks are made from regular bricks which you can paint to get the color you need. With 16 different shades to choose from, you can create a more visually appealing structure. While the physical appearance of the bricks may change, they are essentially still the same resources. Another similar utility delivered are the colored planks. You can paint regular wood planks with any of the 16 shades available. What makes this an even more fun utility to use is the fact that you can also keep changing the colors whenever you please with the paint brush implemented by the mod.
Aside from utilities for building, the mod also offers items for storage and inventory. One of these items is the Golden Bag of Holding. If this bag is crafted and enchanted with Reincarnation, then the bag, as well as the items’ contents, do not get lost if you die. What happens is, the bag gets sent back to your inventory. However, this respawning feature only works once. The good news, though, is that the bag can be re-enchanted.
Extra Utilities also implements weapons and tools into the game. One of these weapons is the Etheric Sword. This sword is crafted on a 3×3 grid from an obsidian block and two unstable ingots. The ingots are also resources implemented by the mod. The Etheric Sword deals more damage than a diamond sword with part of it being magical damage that bypasses armors. A tool that comes in the mod that you might find handy is the Destruction Pickaxe. It is the perfect weapon for mining stone as it is five times more effective than the diamond pickaxe. However, this tool is not effective on any other types of block. Also, there are no item drops when it is used.
In addition to all the aspects already mentioned, Extra Utilities Mod also implements numerous generators. One of the interesting generators it brings is the Culinary generator. It uses food as fuel. High-saturation food provides longer output while high-filling ones provide more power. Other generators include Pink generator that consumes pink colored items as fuel and Solar generators that get charged during daytime and generate at night. With a wide array of generators available, you can get energy from virtually any element in the game.
